Soft Salad Crisps 24.03.08

Soft Salad, are salted mini Sembe (rice crackers). This particular packet is the ambitiously named “Joy Pack”.

Quite why they are called Soft Salad, I have no idea but they are really tasty which I suppose is the least you would expect from a “Joy Pack”.

The closest comparison with a mainstream UK crisp would be Quavers, although Soft Salad are tastier, a lot bigger and thicker.

Soft Salad not only gives Quavers a beating in the taste and size department, it also gets the better of the Walker’s crisp in terms of health factors - Soft Salad weighs in at 6.7g less fat and 0.82g less salt per 100g than Quavers . That said if health is your main concern I’d image an actual salad would be the best bet.

These things are creepily addicting. I can’t get over it, y’know? I found them in New York at Katagiri, on 59th Street between 2nd and 3rd avenue.
